Create Content to Improve Search Engine Results

Thursday, September 24, 2009 · 0 comments

Content is one of the most important pieces on a webpage design puzzle, also a useful online marketing tool. Without it, you are just showing off a graphic composition, even if done amazingly well, you are missing the necessary information your customers need to purchase what you offer.
For online marketing reasons content helps you rank top on search engines. How? When you constantly post information on your webpage web crawlers establish that you are a constant content generator, therefore you will be visited with more frequency than pages that don´t post with the regularity you do. This way you become a more important and useful website people consult regularly.

Keywords are very important in this process, especially on titles or headlines. Also on the first paragraph of your content, keywords are added with the intention of becoming the main words on your webpage, the way you are going to be found online. So, when your potential customers enter those words on search engines, your webpage appears on the first places without having to pay for words or place bids on them, like Pay per Click campaigns. You will have a natural ranking on Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines depending on how frequent you add information on your website. There are many ways of having different sections on your website to post information: News, Blogs, press releases etc. also, not all information has to be written content for customers:

• Video Content
• Audio Content
• Information tools

Widgets are information codes that can be installed on any webpage for information purposes. They take the form of onscreen tools (clocks, event countdowns, auction ticketers, etc) with the intention of becoming a handy and useful tool viewers might use. Video information is also a good source to have customers enter and stay on your website for a while, view videos and be informed.
Although written content is useful for web crawlers to improve your search engine positioning, other information sources will also generate more traffic on your site. Remember, you are creating a webpage to be positioned online and a spot where people can find the products/services you offer, also a place where web surfers can find useful information and tools they search for online.

So, start thinking of useful content to post online. If you are interested in a professional company to improve your SEO strategies.

Tuesday, February 3, 2009 · 0 comments

In Shrushti Web Solutions, we were not given only one kind of work or nor we had to work on a single website or subject. The work changed continuously & according to the requirement. We had to learn all the aspects of e-marketing and practically in our day to day work. We had to learn and implement basics of e-marketing, link building, developing, maintaining the sites, brainstorming for new ideas, find new methods or sites for e-marketing, keywords research, Pay Per Click (PPC), SEO & SMO etc.

As we were exposed to such an environment on Internet & to such a responsible working environment, new ideas & teaching given all the time, I wanted to show all this in my report. Also my personal interest from the beginning was in Search Engine Optimization. I was given the task to build a web site & to do SEO of it & I worked very hard for that site & learned complete SEO procedure & brought the site in the google rankings. So I choose SEO process as my project report topic as it covers many aspects of e-marketing & I will also be able to explain it in a better way as I have practically done this.

Outsourcing Benefits

Monday, January 19, 2009 · 0 comments

The motivation to outsource data entry operations is fueled primarily by cost. Domestic service bureaus can offer low cost data entry services by taking advantage of economies of scale, inexpensive labor, and image-enabled, document processing technology that automates data entry and document indexing.

1. Reduced Capital Costs :
Outsourcing offers two types of savings:
Capital Expenditures - Companies can save 100 percent of their intended capital expenditure (land, facilities, hardware, etc.) by working with an outsourcing firm. If the company’s workload increases, outsourcing obviates the need to invest in additional capital or ramp up capacity. Similarly, a company may find that the service bureau’s capacity offers a competitive advantage, particularly when operating in a price-sensitive market. If facilities already exist, they can be sold or used for other purposes.
Revenue Expenditures - Organizations can save 50 percent or more over manual data entry, plus operational and administrative expenses.

2. Converting Fixed Costs to Variable
Most service bureaus operate on a ‘per item of work’ basis, which means that by outsourcing, a company can eliminate key operator salaries that represent the major fixed cost of data entry. The practice of paying only when the work is done has a major impact on the bottom line, especially when income levels or volumes are down.

3. Savings on Healthcare and Legal Costs
Other incentives to outsource data entry do not involve labor savings, but instead entail savings on legal and medical costs. These include complications due to repetitive strain injuries (RSI), which are especially common among the population of users who have little or no training in typing. Emil F. Pascarelli, in Repetitive Strain Injury: A Computer User's Guide, reports that the number of RSI incidents has increased dramatically since the first PC was released in 1981, when only 18% of all illnesses reported were RSIs. In 2000, an estimated 70% of all occupational illnesses reported to OSHA were RSIs. Such injuries cost companies $20 billion a year in legal and medical costs.

4. Cost-Effective Solution to Seasonal or One-Time Work: It is not unusual for catalog retailers, tax processors and subscription houses to experience peak loads of 80 percent over normal volumes. By outsourcing, companies don’t have to maintain peak level staffing throughout the year. Outsourcing also allows companies to augment the skills of their in-house staff so they don’t have to turn away business that their regular staff can’t handle.

5. Disaster Recovery : In a post-9/11 world, an offsite service bureau provides a U.S. company with additional backup protection in the event of a catastrophe, by warehousing data at a separate storage facility.

Evolution of Outsourcing

The outsourcing of operations and services, including data entry, is a long-standing tradition in America, going back to the early fifties, when back-file conversion dominated the first wave of data entry tasks.

A second outsourcing trend emerged in the 1980s, when the manufacturing industry had to adjust to foreign companies providing automobiles, electronic equipment and components at lower prices. To compete, U.S. manufacturers began contracting operations to offshore companies that could provide labor at significantly lower costs.

What do you mean by off shoring?

Friday, January 16, 2009 · 0 comments

No commonly accepted definition of "off shoring" exists, and the term has been used to include various international trade and foreign investment activities. Services that U.S.-based organizations purchase from abroad are considered imports. They may also be linked to U.S. firms' investments overseas -- for example, U.S. firms may invest in overseas affiliates as a replacement for, or as an alternative to, domestic production. In recent years, services offshoring has been facilitated by factors, such as the Internet, infrastructure growth in developing countries, and decreasing data transmission costs. Organizations' decisions to offshore services are influenced by potential benefits such as the availability of cheaper skilled labor and access to foreign markets, and by risks, such as geopolitical issues and infrastructure instability in countries that supply the services.'Offshoring' of services generally refers to an organization's purchase from other countries of services that it previously produced or purchased domestically.

Monitor Your Website Traffic

An online business website that depends on promotion and sales needs a good search engine marketing strategy to be successful and profitable. Generating targeted traffic to the website is the main function of a search engine marketing strategy. However, it has been observed that active traffic has seldom proved effective to the concerned websites.

A variety of different traffic building methods and techniques can be used to attract traffic to a particular website. One such widely used methods of search engine marketing that is used by online businesses to generate traffic is “pay per click”. Pay per click is an acceptable method used to attract traffic to your websites, however it is important to monitor it frequently to determine its efficacy in generating traffic that is beneficial to the project.

There are many businesses find paid campaigns prohibitively expensive and a drain on their already scarce resources. Such companies can opt for free campaigns that work on targeted marketing. SEO or search engine optimization is a free traffic generating campaign that is a part of search engine marketing. However, it too requires a lot of research and constant monitoring to produce the desired results. The keywords selected for SEO need to be relevant to the website concerned and also to the users queries. For search engine optimization to be effective in attracting traffic the websites should be listed in the first few pages.

Installing link exchange system is also recommended. In this system you have non-competitive websites link to your websites. This way you generate more traffic to your website from partner websites. Having professionally written articles related to your business also helps, the articles pose problems to visitors and offer your company's name as a solution thereby increasing the traffic. Updating articles on a weekly basis makes your website rich with content encouraging visitors to come back again and again and also visitors are more likely to recommend your sites to their friends and associates, thus increasing the traffic to your website. Distributing your articles throughout the net helps as more and more people are aware of your company's product and thus increasing traffic to your website.

Why You Need a Paid Web Hosting

What is Web Hosting?

The service of hosting a site on the Internet making it viewable for other users on the net.

Lots of web hosting service providers are offering identical packages today. And hence it will be difficult for you to choose the right web hosting service for your web site. Choosing the best suited web hosting plan is very important for a smooth running web site. Due to unsuitability in the web hosting plan, one can face losses by decreasing sales, or even losing customers. There are some important factors that have to be considered before buying a web hosting solution.

Web hosting plans that are available on the Internet differ in their pricing. There are some free web hosting plans too. While free hosting plans are meant for personal, non commercial web sites, the paid ones will be good for business web sites. Free web hosting solutions always have certain kinds of restrictions, most unacceptable to any respectable business.

Disk Space or Storage Space Restrictions

As one’s web site is a collection of files being offered on the Internet for viewing, it is necessary to store them somewhere for retrieval. These files are stored in the web servers offered by the web hosting service provider. Most of the free web hosting solutions offer a little storage space (say) 500 Mb or even less than that. This space will not be adequate for a business web site. Even a personal web site with many video and music files cannot be accommodated in so little space. Paid web hosting will let you get the desired server space for your files. If you need more space for storing files you can expand by paying a little extra.

Web Traffic restrictions

Business promotions can cause large amount of traffic flowing to a website. And that’s what the business websites are meant for. However, the free hosting service providers allow only limited traffic to your website. Most of the free web hosts allow 5 GB (max) of traffic to your website. Once the traffic to your website crosses the limit, your website won’t be visible to the public. The paid web hosts allow much greater traffic which is indispensable for business website.

No Tools and Applications

Paid web hosting packages include tools and applications that are needed to tweak or modify a website. The applications will be ready-made and can be used in a website with ease. The tools include virus protection, privacy tools, etc. None of these tools or applications will be available with the free hosting packages.

This is why you need paid hosting for creating a good web site.

WHY SEO (Search Engine Optimizer)?

What is SEO?
Search Engine Optimization. The art of making your website relevant and important so that it ranks high in the search results for a particular word.

SEO can make the content of your web pages more relevant, more attractive, and more easily read by search engines and their crawling and indexing software.

Why would this be of great importance to you? Would it be important to you if customers were unable to find your telephone number or find the address of your business? I do not think that many businesses could survive for very long in this situation.

Of course, your current customers and persons already acquainted with your business would be likely to find your web site without difficulty. Wouldn't they?

Are you absolutely sure that your advertising has reached enough potential customers? Did you consider that some people simply do not read the newspapers? How about people who didn't get the issue of the magazine where you placed an expensive ad?

So, what about the search engines? Those people could just enter a few words into a text box, click a button, There is a link to your web site. Aren't search engines wonderful?
Yes, search engines can be wonderful, and the scenario above can happen, but not without some work. This is where SEO comes in.

What is Google Page Rank?

Thursday, January 8, 2009 · 0 comments

• Google Page Rank is simply Google's way of displaying how important a webpage is. Google assumes that when 1 webpage links to another webpage, it's actually "casting a vote" for the webpage. The more votes you have for your webpage, the more important your webpage will be.

• Google also takes into account the importance of other website's pages linking to your own webpage. If many webpages link to the website's webpage linking to you (i.e. They have a lot of "votes") then their vote will be of more importance and will increase your Page Rank more.See images below for a visual representation of what I mean...
